Changing things up at Marlow Gallery

My most recent palette knife painting "Morning Reach", 2011
A technique I began exploring in 2005
So it has nearly been a month that my Process-ed show has been up at Marlow and so we are going to switch things up during April to give the public something else to look at.  Originally intending to hang my new series of Fabricated Landscapes, I realized that perhaps a survey of my work would allow my new community to see how my work has developed since 2003.  Hanging a selection of collages and painterly landscapes from the last 9 years is a little bit scary for me as I like a show to look cohesive.  People will more than likely walk into the gallery and think that there are 10 different artists on the wall.  I'm just hoping that there will be a little something for everybody to fall in love with.  If you want to take in the switch, the new show will be ready for preview April, Thursday 12th and will run until April 28th.

Awesome Day with Gavy Swan and Michael Coughlin

Mixed media work by Michael Coughlin
Today at the Mad and Noisy we worked feverishly to get the new show Conveyed up  for the weekend.  Michael Coughlin made hanging heavy works light as a feather and Gavy Swan put her excellent editting abilities to use by typing up all the labels.  A day that would usually take me well into the late hours of the evening, turned out to be a day where I could actually be home for dinner with my honey.  Be sure to come on out to the gallery for the opening on Saturday to see the entire show hung and pick out your favourite by each artist.  This is my favourite construction by Michael for his amazing use of colour, pattern and texture.

Installation Day tomorrow at the Mad and Noisy Gallery

Well tomorrow is another big day at the Mad and Noisy Gallery as it is install day.  Tonight I am heading in to get a fresh coat of paint on the large wall and begin taking down the work so hanging will go smoothly tomorrow.  Gavy Swan Mansfield and Michael Coughlin will both be with me tomorrow to help the install go quickly and perhaps Lyne get the labels done by the end of the day.  It's always exciting to see what actually comes in from each artist.  Join us on Easter Saturday in Creemore to meet the artists from 2:00 til 5:00 pm.  If you want to subscribe to our seasonal emailer you can do this at the bottom of our home page of our website.  Also follow us on Facebook for pictures of new works coming into the gallery.
